About Us
The DSP Virtual Laboratory is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India, under the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NME-ICT). Laboratory courses on hands-on experiments are an integral part of engineering education.
The Laboratory-on-Demand enables students to measure the different characteristics or parameters of various signals and circuits at any time and from anywhere using a Flash and Java enabled web browser.
Objective
The virtual laboratory will enable student to conduct various analysis
and synthesis based experiments on digital signal processing (DSP) and develop a
deeper understanding of the design and implementation issues at both hardware and
software (algorithm) level including real-time issues.
The learning objective here is to supplement DSP theory course with
implementation level understanding of basic discrete-time signal operations and system
properties, implementation of DFT and FFT, aliasing in frequency and time domain,
design of FIR and IIR filter, finite register length effect, efficient filter structures,
multirate systems, filter bank and wavelet based analysis, etc. The courseware would
also make the students familiar with some interesting experiments on Texas Instruments
DSP kits as well as FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array).
Each experiment will include features like pre-lab reading, pre-lab quiz,
instructions, models, record keeping, analysis, feedback and evaluation.
