• This experiment can be used to estimate the first five natural frequencies of a beam.

    • Cantilever beam
    • Fixed beam
    • Simply supported beam

  • The modal analysis is carried out to estimate the natural frequencies by two different ways that are theoretical and by simulation. natural frequencies for particular case .

  • The experimentation is carried out to provide the information to how to get natural frequencies for particular cases.

  • The first five frequencies are calculated by using the theory as we have discussed in previous section ad these are compared with simulations by using commercial software ANSYS.

  • In additionally mode shapes along with their frequency response are shown in addition to the natural frequencies.

  • Only the natural frequencies of the in-plane mode shapes are considered. The obtained rsults show the good argument with the theoretical results.

  • 30 cm length of beam of rectangular cross section was considered throughout the experiment.

  • Modal and harmonic analysis is carried out to different values of width the thickness of beam.
